Sewing course for our girls

Learning a craft and exploring your own creativity are very important in our workshops. The children in our club are constantly given insight into a wide variety of professions and are introduced to the topic in the form of workshops. Zahir's mother Kashmir shows our girls how to use a needle and thread and helps with embroidery and sewing. It is important to the ZAKI Afghan Children Foundation to give children an awareness of crafts and the appropriate use of homemade products.

"Field project" - help for self-help

Support for self-sufficiency. With the help of Zahir's father Auzubillah and a few helpers, this wonderful project to support our families was created. These fields not only enable a supply of fresh and healthy food, but also create important and correct awareness of its production. As you can see from some of the photos, our students learn about the importance of agriculture and get closer to this topic in the form of workshops and excursions. The supply situation in Afghanistan in general is getting worse, which is why we are making these fields, with a total size of almost one hectare, available to the families of our association as part of the ZAKI Afghan Children Foundation in order to be able to offer the necessary help for self-help.

One warm meal per week

According to the World Food Program (WFP), around 20 million people, almost half of the population of Afghanistan, are currently threatened by hunger. The Taliban takeover has plunged the country into a geopolitical impasse. The ailing economy in this war-torn country is ailing. All funds from the ousted Afghan state are now frozen in US and European banks and will only be released if human and women's rights are respected. The WFP continues to warn of a worsening famine. Families would already have to decide between food and fuel. With our initiative, we not only support children in financing school fees and learning materials, but also want to enable them to have a warm, nutritious meal a day. At the moment we can ensure a regular supply of food once a week.

Please help us to turn this idea into reality.

We're drilling a well

In general, the need for drinking water in Afghanistan is very high. If the hoped-for rains fail to materialize, entire areas will dry up and make life difficult for the many smallholders in Nangarhar province. Many people do not have access to clean drinking water and often have to travel long distances to the nearest water point.

With this project we can not only our children,

but one enable the whole village community to have a better life.

A well at our location

costs approx. € 7,000
