CHILD LABOR IN A BRICK FACTORY

"WE HELP A BROTHER, A REFUGE FROM AFGHANISTAN!"
This is how a letter to us from Pakistan began from a man who became aware of the emergency situation and hopelessness of a family.
The background is the story of Hizboullah, who worked in a brick factory in Pakistan. Three years ago he became seriously ill and went into debt with his employer in order to be able to support his wife and six children. He has a debt of 400 - 500 euros to his employer, which his children aged 3 - 9 have to pay off in the form of hard physical work. His children also cover the family's living expenses through their work.

We would like to help these children and try to at least pay off the family's debts so that the father can start a new life with his family in another place with a suitable job.

ZAKI Private School

Since the only school in the region, the Lal Poori Private School, was to be closed because the current headmaster wanted to leave the country, our non-profit association ZAKI Children Foundation took advantage of the opportunity to purchase its license at a reasonable price. This means that ZAKI has officially recognized school status and can later open additional schools.

The 6-level ZAKI Afghan Private School is currently attended by 130 children who are taught by five teachers - including our proven partners Dawa Khan Menapal and Bezar Najibullah.

The school fees are partly paid by the students; our association covers the costs for the teachers, the caretaker and the material and renovation costs.

Of course, it is particularly important to us to take in children whose parents cannot afford to attend school. We also want to expand the school up to the twelfth level so that young people can also benefit from education.

Of course, more teachers will then have to be hired and the building will have to be expanded. Before that, however, there is some renovation work to be done on the building, as it has been completely neglected in recent years.
